| A Tillandsia is a Bromeliad...but not all Bromeliads are Tillandsias. Bromeliad is the Family name. Tillandsia is the genus. Airplants are the common name for Tillandsias (sometimes called "Air Plants"). Not all Bromeliads are Airplants. Airplants grow without soil while most types of Bromeliads do best in soil. |
| Tillandsia International sells the airplant type Bromeliad. These Bromeliads due well when mounted on wood, rocks or shells. The "tank" type Bromeliads (this is a Bromeliad that holds water) should not be mounted, these Bromeliads should be grown in pots. Tillandsia International does not sell this type of Bromeliad. Tillandsia International sells only to the Nursery Trade. If you are a hobbyist, collector or our looking for a gift... |
